También tuvimos el placer de visitar, en el més de Abril, el museo de la Casa Cautiño en Guayama. Un ejemplo vivo de como vivía una familia adinerada en Puerto Rico en el siglo XIX. La casa es preciosa y tiene el mueblario original, la mayoría hecho por artesanos y ebanistas de Guayama. También hay ejemplares de piezas importadas de Europa. Hay recorridos acompañados de guía los cuales son muy buenos. Le recomendamos visitar a Guayama y a la Casa Cautiño, y además, visite la plaza que es una de las más bonitas de Puerto Rico la cual todavia retiene de lo antiguo.
También, ese día, visitamos a nuestro pueblo natal de Guánica por unas horas, saboreando comida típica en el Rest. Blue Marlin en la playa de Guánica y luego visitamos a unos primos en el pueblo. Pasamos a Ensenada por una hora y luego regresamos a Fajardo esa noche.
Después de un refrescante crucero en el Serenade of the Seas desde San Juan, pasamos una semana visitando varias áreas de la Isla. Visitamos a Ponce y su Museo de la Historia de Ponce. Este museo es de primera, muy bien presentado, gratis y con guías, y ademas está ubicado en una casona de principios de siglo XX. Fué un placer estar allí varias horas. Luego comimos helado en la plaza frente al Parque de Bombas antiguo. De allí pasamos a disfrutar del arte en el famoso Museo de Arte de Ponce, ya abierto después de 2 años de renovaciones y expanción. Otra joya de Puerto Rico para el turista al igual que el residente.

1. Eight sets of the Boletin Mercantil postcards.
2. 4 sets of Coleccion Paris-Bazar and Pedro Giusti postcards.
3. Over 75 photo postcards from Ensenada and the Guanica Central.
4. Over 40 postcards, mostly real photo post cards, of Fajardo and the Central Fajardo.
5. Many cards to individual town sets.
6. We divided the Old San Juan cards in various sets for easier viewing, such as Street Views, Buildings of Old S.J. etc.
7. A collection of Spanish-American War postcards and ephemera as it relates to Puerto Rico.
June 4, 2009: we have added a nice group of real photo postcards from Vieques, Culebra, Rio Piedras and Yauco. We also created a new page to highlight the many lighthouses in Puerto Rico.
June 7, 2009: we have added a few real photo postcards to the Celebrities page. Also added a fabulous real photo pc of the Central Fajardo trains.
June 9, 2009: we added Post Card Set No. 1 of the Coleccion del Nuevo Bazar de A. Gilot of Ponce scenes. Also added a rare card of the Dornier X Airplane arriving in P.R., as well as some additional Advertising Covers. A set from D.S. of Mayaguez has also been added including some nice postcards of the Mayaguez railroad station and trains.
June 19, 2009: hemos añadido 3 colecciones más de A. Gilot de Ponce, dueño de El Nuevo Bazar. Un grupo de postales de Coamo, más Trolleys, faros, barcos, y tarjetas de otros pueblos. Los grupos de postales publicados por Allen News Co., dos sets de Mayaguez, y otros sets, como el de Rotograph Company.
Mucho, mucho mas por venir. No hemos tocado ni la puntita de la coleccion todavia.
We have added three more collections from A. Gilot of Ponce, owner of El Nuevo Bazar. A nice group of postcards from Coamo by Gilot, more trolleys, lighthouses, ships, and additional postcards in dfferent towns. The early PMC set of postcards by Allen News Co., two new Mayaguez sets, and some other scarse sets, such as the one issued by The Rotograph Company.
Much, much more to come. We haven't even hit the tip of the iceberg.
June 27, 2009: we have continued to add additional sets such as the 4 sets issued by Raphael Tuck & Sons, Spear Bros.,La Voz de la Patria set from Mayaguez, and F. Liebig with cross-referencing to the individual towns.
July 1, 2009: we have divided our Ponce and Mayaguez photos into various sets to facilitate the viewing of these as these will be numerous.
July 17, 2009: we have added many more sets. We split up the Post Card Sets into Printed Postcards and Real Photo Post Card (RPPC) publishers. There are many more post card sets to come. We have over 500 different Moscioni cards, hundreds and hundreds of real photo postcards not identified as to photographer which we have started to upload and will be found in the indivual town pages, a large collection of the Waldrop Photographic Co. post card sets, etc. etc. So, continue visiting.
August 14, 2009: Have added many real photo postcards including some great ones from the effects of the 1918 earthquake that hit Puerto Rico in 1918 on the west and southwest coasts. A large number of real photo postcards from Culebra have been added and many other topical sets. Many other sets of real photo postcards to come. Printed postcards will be left to a later date as there are thousands of these and it will take us many long hours to scan them and upload them to this website.
Oct. 16, 2009: we have added hundreds of postcard views, many real photos, and we have now started to upload our whole collection of stereoviews, so search this website for the topics of interest.
Sept 28, 2010: we have added over 1000 new photos including many stereoviews, cabinet cards, real photo postcards, and other ephemera and postal history. Take a look if you haven't done so lately.
March 1, 2011: we have added hundreds of real photo postcards, especially of Old San Juan, as well as other ephemera. We have reached today the ONE MILLION mark of hits on Flickr.com where we house our photos. According to the Stats in Flickr.com we have had visitors of one million in about 1 1/2 years since we established the website. Visits are growing and more and more people are contacting us for copies of photos and for permission to use photos in their research work, productions, and even TV programs. The purpose of our website is being fulfilled. Thank you.
